The Stanley Residents Association put down its roots at Stanley in the 1960s when it was still a small fishing village. In the 70's the Association gathered enough credits to convince the Government to grant land to builda two-storey Club House at Stanley Bay (near Murray House). Right from the beginning, organizing dragon boat races was the main project of the Association, as it is now. Over the years, the Association has endeavored to promote recreational, sporting, and social service activities in the community.
