About Us
Originating from the Stanley Residents Association in the 1960s, we are rooted in authentic fishing village culture. We have transformed the traditional races once held at the Tin Hau Temple into an exhilarating international stage, igniting a city-wide passion for the sport.
We prioritise shared experiences over awards. We strive to link our community with the world, turning the excitement of Dragon Boat Races into social good. This is the pulse of Stanley—a rhythm of legacy, unity, and vibrancy!
Our Story
Stanley has historically been a vital shelter for fishermen. Since the 1960s, our dragon boat races have evolved from prayer rituals at the Tin Hau Temple to the grand international competition at Stanley Main Beach today.
In 2001, we officially incorporated as the "Stanley Dragon Boat Association" and established our dedicated training base. From humble village traditions to becoming the "Cradle of Dragon Boat Athletes," we witness how this sport fosters social inclusion and keeps our heritage vibrant.

The Spirits of Stanley Dragon Boat

Rooted in the traditions of the Stanley fishing community since the 1960s, Stanley Dragon Boat Championships have moved from the spiritual waters before the Tin Hau Temple to the expansive Stanley Main Beach. We have successfully transformed this local festival into a world-class sporting heritage, where every stroke carries the depth of history.
Legacy

Unity begins with inclusivity. Since 1975, we have pioneered Expat and Women's categories, breaking barriers to make Stanley a hub of cultural fusion.
Today, seamlessly hosting over 300 teams, we provide a platform where shared effort empowers corporate and community groups to discover the true strength of unity and forge enduring bonds.
Unity

Stanley is the cradle of dragon boat athletes. With the most comprehensive training facilities and steel racking systems in Hong Kong, we support the sweat and dreams of paddlers day and night. We infuse this sport with vitality, turning a traditional festival into a dynamic celebration of energy.
